This is a pair of Shell tokens that commemorate the 10th anniversary of the first Singapore oil refinery located at Pulau Bukom. Shell set up the refinery in Singapore in 1961 as it was the largest oil storage and processing centre in Southeast Asia. Shell was the first company to be awarded a pioneer certificate by the government for developing a pioneer industry.
