Letter from A. Zaky to Masuri S.N.

This typewritten letter was sent by A. Zaky, an officer with a literary magazine based in Alor Setar, Kedah, and directed to Singapore literary pioneer, Masuri SN (real name Masuri bin Salikun). The letter expresses A Zaky’s acknowledgement of receipt for Masuri’s submission for Bingkisan Hari Raya, a special literary issue intended for release with Hari Raya Haji that year. However, A Zaky then extended an offer to Masuri to have his first poetry anthology, Awan Putih (1958), be reprinted by the Kedah literary magazine in romanized alphabets instead of Jawi.
