Collection of
The form of this pantsuit was influenced by kebaya and sari silhouettes, with embroidery inspired by Peranakan beadwork. It was the fourth look in Kavita Thulasidas’ winning collection in the Singapore Stories 2022 competition. The crane motifs that recur throughout the collection were inspired by a pair of door curtains from the collection of the Peranakan Museum, which the designer saw during a special behind-the-scenes tour at Singapore’s Heritage Conservation Centre.
