Gift of Antonio and May in loving memory of Leonie Theresa Daroya Koenitz.

This Jack Mulqueen shirt was owned by Leonie Koenitz, who was one of the first fashion models trained in Singapore at Joan Booty and Ruth Warner's Mannequin Training and Charm School, which opened in 1956. Jack Mulqueen was an American businessman known for producing clothes aimed at career-minded women. Many of the clothes produced by the label were inspired by collections from other designers such as Claude Montana, Giorgio Armani, and Ungaro, which Mulqueen then re-made and manufactured in South Korea; this business model earned him the moniker "Fast Jack", possibly pre-empting the rise of fast fashion in the 2000s. The Jack Mulqueen store stood on on Seventh Avenue, in New York City, throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and the label was also carried by department stores such as Bloomingdales and Saks Fifth Avenue. This silk shirt features an asymmetrical high-cut collar in a bold turquoise shade.
