Gift of Antonio and May in loving memory of Leonie Theresa Daroya Koenitz.

This Byblos top was owned by Leonie Koenitz, who was one of the first fashion models trained in Singapore at Joan Booty and Ruth Warner's Mannequin Training and Charm School, which opened in 1956.Byblos was founded in Italy in 1973, taking its name from a hotel in Saint Tropez, France. The creative direction of the label was led by fashion designers such as Gianni Versace (1975-1976), Guy Paulin (1979-1982) and the duo Alan Cleaver and Keith Varty, whose tenure from 1981 to 1996 was one of the most significant in the fashion house's history. Byblos was carried in Singapore by the multilabel boutique Man and His Woman, which was founded by former Straits Times journalist Judith Chung. This cotton blouse is representative of the colour-forward designs that Cleaver and Varty were known for.
