Gift of Antonio and May in loving memory of Leonie Theresa Daroya Koenitz.

This jacket and pant ensemble from Yaohan was owned by Leonie Koenitz, who was one of the first fashion models trained in Singapore at Joan Booty and Ruth Warner's Mannequin Training and Charm School, which opened in 1956. Yaohan was a Japanese department store that opened in Singapore at Plaza Singapore in 1974. Occupying three floors, it had a supermarket in addition to apparel, toys, electronics, and textiles. This pantsuit highlights the range of apparel carried by Yaohan, which catered to working women in professional and executive roles.
