Gift of Antonio and May in loving memory of Leonie Theresa Daroya Koenitz.
This camisole from John Little was owned by Leonie Koenitz, who was one of the first fashion models trained in Singapore at Joan Booty and Ruth Warner's Mannequin Training and Charm School, which opened in 1956. John Little, opened in 1842 by John Martin Little, was Singapore's oldest department store. The first John Little store was located at what is now known as Raffles Place. It was acquired by Robinson & Co Ltd. in 1955; in the 1960s, it relocated to various locations along Orchard Road including Plaza Singapura and Specialist's Shopping Centre, and Robina House (Shenton Way) and Straits Trading Building (Battery Road), expanding later in the 1990s and 2000s to suburban malls such as Parkway Parade and Jurong Point.
