This top by Alma was owned by Leonie Koenitz, who was one of the first fashion models trained in Singapore at Joan Booty and Ruth Warner's Mannequin Training and Charm School, which opened in 1956. Alma was a label carried by the fashion boutique Man and His Woman, which was started by fashion journalist and entreprenuer Judith Chung. Man and His Woman (1972–1993) was one of the most significant shops in Orchard Road, which brought in the most desirable global high fashion labels in the 1970s–80s.
