This silk long-sleeved top by Valentino was owned by Leonie Koenitz, who was one of the first fashion models trained in Singapore at Joan Booty and Ruth Warner's Mannequin Training and Charm School, which opened in 1956. Valentino was founded in 1960 by Italian fashion designer Valentino Garavani. A standalone Valentino boutique operated at Hilton Shopping Gallery along Orchard Road in the 1980s. This piece is an example of Valentino's ready-to-wear line from the 1980s, and is executed in white and ivory silk. It is close fitted at the top and around the shoulders to highlight the wearer's form.
