Gift of Antonio and May in loving memory of Leonie Theresa Daroya Koenitz.

This paisley printed maxi dress was owned by Leonie Koenitz, who was one of the first fashion models trained in Singapore at Joan Booty and Ruth Warner's Mannequin Training and Charm School, which opened in 1956. The maxi dress is a long and minimally structured dress that gained popularity in the 1960s and 1970s. This dress features a paisley design, a motif of Iranian origin that was introduced to the larger European market in the 18th and 19th centuries, and which was revived in the 1960s.
