Gift of Antonio and May in loving memory of Leonie Theresa Daroya Koenitz.
This jacket by Perry Lin, under the label Cultivation carried at Isetan, was owned by Leonie Koenitz, who was one of the first fashion models trained in Singapore at Joan Booty and Ruth Warner's Mannequin Training and Charm School, which opened in 1956. Cultivation was set up in 1990 as a range of womenswear designed by Perry Lin for Isetan department store. Perry Lin is Singapore designer who set up his first boutique, Mother Goose, at Parkway Parade in the 1980s. He designed more experimental pieces, which were carried at Hemispheres boutique, Singapore's first multi-label boutique set up by Dick Lee. In the 1990s, he set up his boutique on the third floor of Wisma Atria, and also had retail spaces in Style Singapore and Tudor Court.
