This work is part of a set of 20 works on paper created by members and supporters of the artist collective and independent art space Plastique Kinetic Worms (PKW) for fundraising. Titled Boxed 26x26, the artists believed the set would effectively represent the collective as a whole.Plastique Kinetic Works (PKW) was a Singapore-based artist-run space and contemporary art collective co-founded in 1998 by Singaporean artists Vincent Leow and Yvonne Lee. PKW was one of the few artist-run spaces remaining in Singapore after the closure of The Artists Village in Lorong Gambas and the disbanding of 5th Passage. The original founding members of this artist collective include Chua Chye Teck, Lim Poh Teck, Baet Yoke Kuan, Jean Sim, Stefan Jonsson and Casey Leong. PKW was known for its mission to support contemporary art in Singapore by acting as a hub for international collaborations and providing a platform for emerging Singaporean artists. In 2002, the collective participated in the Gwangju Biennale alongside other artist-run spaces from the region. It also facilitated research for curators and scholars such as Hou Hanru and Joan Kee.
