Typewritten bass tabs with stamp ‘Hak Cipta Zubir Said 1965’

Titled ‘Beberapa Latehan untuk Tali Bes’ this is a musical scoresheet that was printed for bass players. The document was stamped with the words, ‘property of Zubir Said 1965’, which corresponds with his retirement from the film industry in 1964 and then embracing his next career trajectory as a music teacher (Puan Sri, Rohana, 2012). According to Puan Sri Rohana, the film industry had shifted to using ‘canned music’ and Zubr Said had been unwilling to forgo his quality of meticulously composed music. He therefore decided to switch to teaching music post-1964.
