This photo shows soldiers from the 1st Battalion, Singapore Infantry Regiment preparing to leave for an exercise. The donor, Mr Hong Seng Mak (front row, 4th from left), joined the battalion when it was first formed in 1957, and was made a Corporal in charge of a section in 1960, around the time this photo was taken. The photo shows the donor with the men in his section.
