Typed lyrics of 'Majulah Singapura'

This is typed lyric sheet to the Majulah Singapura, arranged and written by Zubir Said. This is presumed to be dated mid-1959 onwards as this version of the Majulah Singapura had been shortened from its original composition. Then Deputy Prime Minister Dr Toh Chin Chye expressed interest in the original Majulah Singapore composed in 1958 for the City Council. This original composition was initially shortened without Zubr Said’s consultation, to which he expressed disappointment in a letter to then Minister for Culture, Mr. S. Rajaratnam. Zubr Said was eventually handed the task to shorten the original track. This new Majulah Singapura debuted on 3 Dec 1959, at the installation ceremony of the first Yang di-Pertuan Negara, Yusof Ishak.
