This is a typed lyric sheet to the songs “Melayu Raya” and “Tanah, Bangsa dan Daulat”. According to his daughter, Puan Sri Rohana, she believed that the latter song was his first composition for the nationalistic genre. Initially composed in early 1957, these songs would form a booklet of 10 songs of the nationalistic and patriotic genre. These 10 songs were performed at Victoria Memorial Hall, on 7th July 1957. This showcase was planned between Zubir Said and his 12 friends as mark of loyalty to the Malayan nation on the brink of her independence. These songs were highly recognised as in 1959, as part of Loyalty Week (which ran from 3 to 9 December), songs like the aforementioned were performed again."Melayu Raya," and "Tanah Bangsa dan Daulat". This is a rare and valuable lyric document that holds immense significance. These songs belong to the patriotic genre, evoking a sense of national pride and unity. As Zubir Said's own compositions, they reflect his deep love for his homeland and his commitment to celebrating the Malay culture and heritage.
