Incense shovel

This incense shovel would have been placed on an altar and was used to scoop ashes and incense into censers and burners. Many Peranakan families have retained their Chinese religious beliefs and practices, and such altar implements can be seen used during festivals such as Chinese New Year and death anniversaries of the ancestors. This item is donated by the family of late Mr Yeo Cheng Kim and Madam Koh Quee Neo. It comes from the ancestral home, formerly at 22 to 25 Zion Road.
