Even-weave fabric is widely used in needlework, especially in counted techniques like counted cross stitch, blackwork, certain types of Hardanger, drawn thread work and pulled thread work. Even-weave fabrics have the same number of stitches vertically and horizontally, thus when one is making cross stitches, each 'X' will be the same height and width.
