Here are two pairs of uncut slipper faces. Outlines of slippers faces were drawn onto a felt base, using ink or chalk. The motifs were then embroidered to create designs and patterns on the slipper faces. The slipper faces would have been sent to Chinese shoemakers to be made into the final product.
