This ring is set with an oval-shaped black onyx stone and 12 old European cut, Swiss cut and old mine cut diamonds. This ring was designed by Tan Chong Beng (1908-1975) and given to his wife, Lee Chuan Neo (1912-1989). The ring was set by the family's jeweller in their home. The ring is part of a group of heirloom jewellery that was passed down from Lee to her only child, Mona Tan (b. 1945). Lee was photographed wearing this ring, see photo donated by Mona Tan.
