This is a photo of a Peranakan family stamped with studio mark '美 路 Mellow Studio Singapore'. Captured in this photo are Lee Chuan Neo (1912 – 1989), Tan Chong Beng (1908 – 1975) and their adopted daughter and donor of this photograph, Mona Tan (b. 1945). Lee is seen here wearing a kebaya and sarong and adorned with jewellery. As Lee's only child, Mona inherited her mother's jewellery, some of which were passed down from Lee's mother, Gwee Luan Neo (1884 – 1953). The pendant and ring worn by Lee, are part of a group of heirloom jewellery acquired by the museum.
