This piece of embroidery was done by Alyssa Lim during the COVID-19 pandemic in Singapore. As part of preventive measures instituted by the government of Singapore, starting on the 7th of April 2020 all non-essential businesses were closed and people were encouraged to stay home as much as possible. Many turned to home crafts and activities such as baking or sewing. The embroidery depicts six people involved in Singapore's fight against COVID. Four are unnamed (a supermarket employee, a volunteer handing out masks, an NSman packing masks, and a family doctor) and were done based on pictures in newspaper articles. The other two figures are Minister Lawrence Wong, the co-chair for the COVID governmental task force, and Dr Ong Pei Yuin, a physician at NUH.
