This textile would have been worn wrapped around the hips or waist. It features a striped centrefield flanked by two rows of rhomb and hook motifs which may reflect the influences of Dong Son culture, a prehistoric civilisation which originated in north Vietnam. It has been suggested that local mythology traces such motifs to a stylised lizard head, thus linking the lizard cult and period of Dong Son influence.
