This 'mudmee' silk skirt cloth has a orange red ground with geometric patterns that includes small lozenges with spires and rows of triangles between what looks like tall tree-like motifs. 'Mudmee' woven textiles originate from the northeastern part of Thailand. 'Mud' means to tie or bind while 'mee' refers to silk strands. It is the Thai version of 'ikat' or the tie and dye technique used to create patterns. The designs range from abstract designs to Buddhist motifs.
