This aventurine flower-shaped, sculptural water-well is part of the collection of 300 over carvings from the late Qing period amassed by Aw Boon Haw from 1932 to 1939. Initially, the collection was made available for public viewing only every Chinese New Year at Aw’s fabulous home at 3 Nassim Road, also known as the “Jade House”. However, he decided to open the doors of his house to the public on a daily basis. free-of-charge for public enjoyment, turning the Jade House into a popular tourist spot.
