The Whistling Kettle was a popular household item that was desired for its durable and utilitarian design. These kettles were usually fitted with a lever on the base of the bakelite handle to facilitate the opening of the spout. It was so well-liked that Alessi produced a modern version called “Kettle with a Bird-Shaped Whistle” in the 1980s.
