This booklet is a publication by the Singapore Ministry of Culture, and contains the text of a speech made by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew in the Malaysian Parliament on 27 May, 1965 on the inadequacies of race-based politics. It was later called the 'straw that broke the camel's back', leading to Singapore's eventual separation from Malaysia.
