This ring is made of yellow gold and a baguette-cut emerald gem on an octagonal face in a regal star setting. The outer circumference of the ring is hand-carved with floral motifs that symbolise vitality and fertility, which are commonly found in Southeast Asian Jewellery. The ring was designed as part of a capsule collection titled ‘Warisan’ (‘heritage’ in Malay) for The Museum Collection (2022), a collaborative initiative between ACM and the Singapore Fashion Council, where Jewellery designers were invited to create designs inspired by the ACM’s collection. Inspired by mourning jewellery from the Straits Settlements and a Javanese comb from the late 19th to early 20th centuries, State Property explored the symbolic elements found in Southeast Asian Jewellery that represent life and death. State Property is a contemporary fine jewellery label from Singapore. Founded by Lin Ruiyin and Afzal Imram in 2015, the label combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary approaches to design. Known for its geometric and elegant aesthetic and high jewellery craftsmanship, State Property’s jewellery has been worn by both celebrities and politicians.
