Singapore Telecom push button telephone set

This telephone set was issued by Singapore Telecom, which was previously known as Telecoms after the Singapore Telephone Board merged with the Telecommunication Authority of Singapore in 1974. This entity was later renamed Singapore Telecom, or Singtel, as part of a corporatisation programme in 1989 that saw a new logo unveiled in 1992, the same one that is seen on the bottom right hand corner of this telephone. Such telephone sets were commonly found in the households and offices in Singapore throughout the 1990s, and they were key communication tools before the arrival of handheld devices.
