Dishes painted with a central fish motif in iron-brown pigments, as with this example, are the most representative wares from the Sukhothai kilns. Large quantities of ceramics were made at Sukhothai and Sawankhalok kilns for export to Southeast Asia and beyond during the 14th to 16th centuries.
