This graduation certificate carries Chinese Nationalist Party flag motifs. It was issued by the Happy School, a free public Chinese-medium school in Geylang. The establishment of the school in 1946 was initiated by the chairperson of the Happy World Dance Troupe, Madam He Yan, who were concerned with large number of idle children roaming the streets of Geylang when their education was interrupted by World War II.
