Envelope addressed to Lord Minto from Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, containing an issue of the Java Government Gazette

Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles established a British East India Company trading factory in Singapore in 1819. This envelope, addressed in Raffles’ hand and signed by him, contains the 23 April 1814 issue of the Java Government Gazette. It was addressed to Lord Minto – Gilbert Elliot the 1st Earl of Minto – the former Governor General of India.
