This crochet bedspread was made by Mrs Elsie Lee Swee Cheng as the centerpiece for the Art and Handicraft Exhibition that she organised from 29-30 June 1962 to raise funds for the Red Cross Society and Family Planning Association. Mrs Elsie Lee served as President of the Chinese Women’s Association in 1961 and 1962.
