This is a set of wedding garment and skirt. The orange blouse has a mandarin collar and side opening and is worn together with a silk skirt. Both the blouse and skirt are embroidered with peonies. Sequins and metallic thread are used to decorate the sleeves and borders of the garment and skirt. Peranakan Chinese wore Chinese-style clothing particularly during festive occasions like weddings as a reflection of their Chinese heritage.
