This green sleeveless dress is characteristic of dresses worn in the 1960s to 1970s. With the advent of the miniskirt in the 1960s, dresses with hemlines above the knees were in vogue. The dress was produced by the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU), which was one of the largest labour unions in the United States and one of the first to have a primarily female membership.
