This Cold Storage Social and Sports Club Scrapbook Issue 11, is from Singapore's earliest supermarket formed in 1903. It was specially formed to store and distribute frozen food and perishables. In 1905 it opened its first retail space on Orchard Road. Cold Storage is also very popular with Singaporeans who remember it for manufacturing the first iice-cream – which was later relaunched as Magnolia in 1937.Having survivied the war years and later, the outlets are now owned by Dairy Farm Intenrational Holdings, a part of the Jardine Matheson conglomerate, which purchased Cold Storage Holdings retail operations in 1992.
