This cloth is a pua sungkit, a type of cloth produced using a rare supplementary warp wrapping technique in which additional coloured threads are carefully wrapped around the warp threads as the cloth is woven. Most pua sungkit have a red ground colour but this one is dyed indigo blue, making it one of the rarest Iban cloths produced.
