This is a filigree decoration in the shape of a Chinese gourd with flowing ribbons tied around it. This is a traditional Chinese emblem and symbolic representation of Li Tieguai, one of the Eight Immortals. This filigree gourd is part of a group donation from descendants of Tan Kim Seng and Tan Jiak Kim. Both were wealthy merchants, philanthropists and leaders of the local Hokkien community.
