Launched in 1967, the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) was organized by the Ministry of Education (MOE). The first SYF Art and Crafts exhibition was introduced in 1968.The 1981 edition of SYF Art and Crafts exhibition based on the theme “Our Cultural Heritage” featured pictures, handicraft and sculptures by students of all levels. The exhibition was organised by St Patrick’s school and its 700 exhibits were culled from a public open call to students.
