Singapore concept plan (used in guiding urban growth and infrastructure developments)

The Concept Plan is a strategic land use and transportation plan that guides Singapore’s development over the next 40-50 years. Reviewed every ten years, the Concept Plan ensures that there is sufficient land to meet long-term population and economic growth needs while providing a good quality living environment for our people. It was known that starting in 1987, the Concept Plan has been revised to develop Singapore into “a tropical city of excellence in the 21st century”. The Concept Plan back then was also targeted to accommodate 4 million Singaporeans in the next century. This artefact was part of the selection in the time capsule buried in 1990 by then DPM Ong Teng Cheong to celebrate Singapore’s 50th anniversary of independence in 2015.
