This Quoit is decorated with silver inlaid scrolling foliate designs and inscribed with gold inlaid gurmukhi script interspersed with a gold inlaid flower detail. The reverse shows a series of small gold flowers against similar scrolling foliate motifs and a hatched edge. The Quoit, a distinctive, spherical, Sikh military weapon, is thrown like a discus or Frisbee, or alternatively spun on the forefinger before being released with momentum that could cut and injure an enemy.
