The Japanese Type 90 helmet was the main helmet that the Japanese military forces used during World War II. The five-pointed star on the helmet indicates that it was worn by a soldier from the army; the navy's helmet bore the badge of a fouled anchor with a cherry blossom. A cloth chinstrap is tied to the ends of the Type 90, which was made to follow the style of Samurai helmets.
