This dressing table mirror is made of an intricately carved red and gold namwood with dragon motifs along the side. The sides are carved in high relief with peony and lotus motifs whilst a series of birds are carved into the front of the mirror. While specific provenance of this dressing table mirror is not known, it was very evidently commissioned for the tastes of the local Chinese Peranakan communities in Palembang, as seen in the carvings and motifs.
