Teapot warmer or tea caddies, such as this, were used by the Peranakan Chinese in their kitchens for storing teapots (teh kuan). Although most tea caddies were usually stored in the kitchen, they were frequently found on a table especially reserved for drinking water together with a tray of glasses.
