The porcelain factory at Vauxhall, in South London was in operation from around 1751 to 1764. It mostly produced blue and white wares imitating Chinese porcelain. Its smaller output of coloured wares included pieces decorated in the Imari palette of blue, red and gold, of which this saucer is an example, painted with floral sprays.
