The pairing of Sakura & Rita was probably best known for their rendition of ‘Xin Taohua Jiang’ (a cover of a classic Chinese love song) in 1967, which made them famous as a duo, travelling overseas for performances. Both held solo careers before embarking on a collaboration, Sakura as a ‘getai’(literally, song stage) singer while Rita had previously released a few records of her own.
