This teacup is conical in shape, with an everted rim (filled with the eight Buddhist emblems) which is scalloped and gilded on the edges and features the standard phoenix-and-peony motif. Although most Straits Chinese teacups are small and range in size from 3.5 to 7 cm in diameter, there are also larger teacups which come together with matching covers.
