Together with his brother Aw Boon Haw, Aw Boon Par established the ‘Tiger Balm’ ointment. Tiger Balm ointment has analgesic properties used for relieving muscular aches and pains. The history of Tiger Balm began in the late 1800s when Aw Chu Kin set up a humble medicine shop in Burma. It was later developed in Singapore by the two brothers and has today become a household name.
