This thickly potted vase with a tall neck and bulbous body has a pure white glaze. It was probably made in sections which were joined. The vase is one of the rare pieces from Dehua that was not moulded but thrown on a potter’s wheel. The form is fluid and naturalistic, where one can imagine it being coaxed into shape by the potter from a lump of clay.
