This striped shoulder cloth has a tassel of Chinese coins threaded to the fringe at both ends. In some areas of Lesser Sunda Islands, coins are used as charms and talisman, as they are believed to have protective powers. The circulation of Chinese coins also points to Chinese commercial activity in the region.
